Safety Boat Certifcation
By the end of this course, the successful candidate will have a wide range of boat handling techniques and experience in the provision of safety cover for sailing events. Areas covered will include, towing, assistance with race management, mark laying and the provision of assistance for sailing dinghies (single handed & crewed), windsurfers, kite surfers, Kayaks and canoes.
Course Type: Practical
Must be age 16 or older: Under Irish law it is illegal for anyone under sixteen to operate a powerboat that is capable of 17 knots or more
Course Content: Towing, assistance with race management, mark laying and the provision of assistance for sailing dinghies (single handed & crewed), sail boards and canoes.
Ability After Course: Increased skills in a wide range of boat handling techniques and experience in the provision of safety cover for sailing events
Minimum Duration: Two Days, 9 AM to 5 PM each day
* This course takes place over the course of one weekend (Saturday & Sunday).
** Assumed Knowledge: National Powerboat Cert (ISA Powerboat Level 2)
